A Brother, unequalled
"Undefeated cage fighting champion, Dave Chapman, defends UK light heavyweight title".
It's strange thing having a brother who chooses to cage fight. Everything from actually watching the fights to reading testosterone induced internet-hype around the cage politics... It's a lot to take in. Especially when its so far removed from anything you do yourself. But I'm so proud that he is succeeding in the pursuit of his endeavors.
Dave is currently undefeated after 5 fights. Finishing each with great determination and technical skill. On 27th February 2011 he was about to come up against his most mentally trying and pressured fight to date. An arranged rematch with his first ever beaten opponent - a fight which lasted 90 seconds. Both fighters would have come a long way since their last meeting, combined with the added pressure of facing off against an opponent with something to prove and the championship belt on the line, it was sure to be an exciting match. Well it wasn't without it's moments of 'bother' but Dave clinched the fight by finally triangling his opponent in the first round. A result he is ecstatic about.
But one of Dave's most commendable traits is that he remains painfully modest and as down-to-earth as ever. Which I'm sure plays a part in his success.
