Leeds Acoustic Sessions for ODDTV

With the launch of ODDTV in early 2012 we've already been hard at work with some really interesting and rather personal projects. One of those projects is a video series of acoustic sessions featuring some extremely talented musicians.

ODDTV's Leeds Acoustic sessions are a seasonal series of videos, where local unsigned musicians perform one original song at a hidden outdoor location in Leeds. Each episode is beautifully shot and stripped back of production values allowing the performance to shine through in its rawest form.

Our first series, 'Winter', kicks off with four musicians who were chosen, in particular, for their exceptional abilities and we feel very privileged to be able to help showcase these artists as part of ODDTV. All the videos have been shot on location in and around Leeds, West Yorkshire and were personally choosen by each musician.

Dave Pilla: A solo artist originally from the Wirral, now residing in Leeds. His unique vocals, life-lamenting lyrics and unforgettable harmonies all entwine with magnetising effect. A true and distinctive style of music that will lead you to listen again and again. http://soundcloud.com/davepilla

Matt Belmont: Independent singer/songwriter based in Leeds. 2011 saw Matt gig tirelessly across the UK, playing many impromptu street busking sets and even playing live radio sets for stations such BBC Introducing and LSRFM. His online videos rank within the YouTube top 100 most watched music chart. http://www.mattbelmont.com

Benjamin William Pike: Benjamin has become an established part of the Leeds music scene with his extraordinary guitar skills and a deep blues vocals. His mesmerising fingerstyle along with his lyrical tales make for that perfect folk sound. www.myspace.com/benpikemusic

Matt Bentley: A singer songwriter from Burnley, but now based in Leeds. He's been playing live as a solo artist for just under ten years. In that time, he's recorded four albums; of those, the third, Entropy, was given a full release at the start of 2010. http://www.myspace.com/mattbentley1

There will be two additional sessions recorded in the coming weeks. With a 'Spring series' being filmed in April 2012 where this feature will really start to grow into something quite special and unique.
